In Uganda you can now buy everything: fake hair, bum, boobs, hips and nails.

There is an exclusive salon just for eyes called Larkspur Eyelash Extensions Bar at Equatorial Shopping Mall on Bombo Road where you can buy extensions for your eyes. Yes, a whole salon to add length, thickness and fullness to your natural eyelashes and eyebrows. If God didn’t give you the face you want, you can now wear it.

Going by how many ladies I have seen trying to wear eyelash extensions, I am certain this salon is in for some real business. Uganda has just enough fashion whores craving for fuller longer eyelashes that draw attention to the face.

You do not have to go to Dubai, Europe or America to get that diva look that comes with long eyelashes: at Larkspur you can buy the fake eyelashes and have them attached with cosmetic glue.

You can choose a single strip lash which with soft cosmetic glue is attached to the eyelid. You can also chose individual flyers or individual single extensions which come in different sizes, curls and colours. Here a single fake lash is attached to your single natural lash. And this takes just a few hours to complete.

The strips at the salon cost Shs 45,000-65,000, individual flares cost Shs 55,000-65,000 while a full set of single lashes costs Shs 150,000. So, why would women want eyelash extensions? Well, same reason why they wear hair or nail extensions, to get an identity they want but don’t naturally have.

The lashes make you look young, make your face pop out and make your eyes look longer. Sometimes these eyelashes are all the make-up you need.
At Larkspur, you can also get your eyebrows and lashes tinted, eye shadow make-up, and cosmetic contact lenses; then you will not need any more mascara.
